About the class
This 5-week series is designed for beginners, and intermediate students are welcome too. We’ll focus on hand-building fundamentals using coil and pinch techniques—two incredibly versatile methods for creating functional and sculptural pieces.
You’ll learn how to build forms step-by-step, refine shapes, and develop your own style while making a small collection of finished work.
What you’ll make
weekly projects
Week 1: Mini mugs + ring & candle holders
Week 2: Slab-built cactus planter (the “perfect” plant pot)
Week 3: Mini teacups using kurinuki (hollowing + carving)
Week 4: Mini figurines
Week 5: Wine & glazing party ✨ (final class)
Bonus finishing session
If you have unfinished pieces by the last class, you’ll be invited to a final 2-hour supervised studio session to finish your work:
Weekday (Mon–Fri), between 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Scheduled during the week after the final class (details shared in class)
Pickup
Your finished pieces will be ready for pickup about 2 weeks after the course ends.
